RFC Template
Template for creating a new RFC
What is this about?
RFCs (which stands for Request For Comment) are documents describing requested changes to Stubbles in any type: organisation, development, changes of existing stable code that break backwards compatibility, adding new packages to the stable release branch. Any change in such area needs to be requested with an RFC, can be discussed by any of the Stubbles developers and users. The RFC itself can be created by any developer or user.
Discussion of RFCs takes place on our developers mailing list.
Why is this required?
One of our targets is to have transparency in our development process, and that no single developer can decide a major issue without the possibility for other developers to reject or modify the request. It is also a good way for users to follow the development process and to read about major changes between stable releases.
Which process does a RFC take?
We follow the process defined for the XP-Framework, which can be found on the XP-Framework website.
